A romantic Victorian foil backed almandine garnet and seed pearl ring, with scrolled carving to shank. This beautiful piece features 5 rich and jammy, oval cut almandine garnets between 8 smaller glowing seed pearls. The garnets are in remarkable condition for their age with sharp facet edges and just a few nicks and nibbles. There is ornate scrolled carving to the entirety of the shank, which also features rarer, collectible hallmarks for the Chester assay office. The ring is stamped for 9ct gold, with an 1880 date letter. Ring size M. Please note that due to the intact hallmarks and scrollwork to outer shank, I would not recommend resizing this ring.

There is some wear to the ring head, with some of the 9ct gold bent inwards. This is not noticeable when the ring is being worn and the piece has been priced to reflect this wear. One seed pearl has been pushed lower into its setting than the others, but again, this is not noticeable when the ring is being worn and does not detract from its beauty. This is a wonderful, romantic piece with nearly 150 years of history. I have greatly enjoyed being its custodian over the past few years and look forward to seeing it continue its journey with its next guardian.
