Stamped ‘GILLOW’ to the interior of the drawer and fitted with its original brass lock marked ‘Royal Letters Patent’ beneath a VR crown. The rectangular top in solid walnut with bevelled edge is mounted with four applied pendant drops, each formed with stepped square mouldings and a faceted terminal.
The plain frieze contains a single drawer and is supported on twin uprights, each formed as a pair of square-section legs with chamfered edges and vertical fluting with angled facets forming a shallow chevron pattern. The upper section of each support is fitted with brackets with three stylised blind-pierced trefoil motifs. The legs are joined by a stretcher and stand on block feet with shallow pyramidal tops above octagonal pads, each fitted with a small castor. The drawer is lined in mahogany.
