A beautifully pretty vintage diamond ring, formed as a softly scalloped flower and set with brilliant-cut diamonds that catch the light with every movement.
Nine round brilliant-cut diamonds are arranged across the flower-head cluster, each held within a rub-over setting that gives the ring its distinctive petalled silhouette. The central diamond sits slightly raised, surrounded by further stones in a wonderfully compact arrangement that creates far more presence on the hand than its delicate proportions might suggest.
The warm 9ct yellow gold band provides a lovely contrast to the bright, white appearance of the diamond-set head. There is something particularly charming about the simplicity of the design, with the little flower appearing almost to float above the slender gold shank.
Dating to the mid to late 20th century, this is a wonderfully wearable vintage jewel. Delicate enough for every day, but with that unmistakable glimmer that makes an older diamond ring feel rather special.
A little flower in diamonds, made to be worn rather than kept for best.
